Supporting Cancer Advocacy Activities: UCF supports institutions to reduce stigma and dispel myths and misconceptions about cancer in Uganda.
Supporting Early Detection of Cancer: UCF supports efforts to reduce late diagnosis of cancer through supporting integration of early detection and screening for cancer into existing health programs, training of health workers in health center IVs, general hospitals and regional referral hospitals and provision of cancer screening equipment and supplies to health facilities.
Strengthening Human Resources for Cancer Control: UCF seeks to enhance human resource capacity for comprehensive cancer management through raising the number of health workers with skills in cancer screening, treatment and support. UCF also plans to provide scholarships for different cadres of oncology workers already serving in government facilities.
Supporting Cancer Diagnosis, Treatment and Social Support: UCF seeks to improve access to cancer diagnostic, treatment and support services through strengthening the capacity of health facilities to accurately diagnose cancer, improving accessibility to cancer drugs, patient accommodation and transport support services.
Supporting Cancer Surveillance and Research: We focus on enhancing cancer surveillance systems. We will seek to generate and disseminate cancer information to the relevant stakeholders, enhance capacity for research in cancer, mobilize financial resources for cancer research and establish partnerships in cancer research.
